The Hiroshima YMCA has been a pillar of community education and development since its inception in 1938. In 1989, the institution expanded its commitment by founding the Hiroshima YMCA College of Foreign Languages, dedicated to providing Japanese language education to international students. Within the Language and Communication Department, students can access Japanese language education through culturally enriched courses of varying durations. Our college is committed to delivering personalized guidance and nurturing the essential communication skills needed for success. Field trips

In addition to regular classes, exciting extracurricular activities such as tours of NHK (Hiroshima Broadcasting Station Hi-Vision Theater) and visits to the Mitaki Boy Nature House are offered. Course Description

The Japanese language program offers a comprehensive curriculum encompassing communication skills, academic proficiency, and business Japanese, divided into three distinct programs:

 

 

 

  • 1-Year Course:
  • Designed for students with a prior Japanese learning experience, this program begins at the intermediate level. It provides a platform for students to further enhance their language skills.
  • 1-Year and 6 Months Course:
  • Tailored for beginners, the first half-year of this program focuses on building foundational language skills. The subsequent portions delve into the intermediate and advanced levels, offering a well-rounded language education.
  • 2-Year Course:
  • For beginners who have already completed 150 hours of previous Japanese study, this course adopts a gradual and thorough approach. Students progress steadily and attain an advanced level of proficiency by course completion.
