Gin Becomes a Finalist in Sunday Webry's Manga Contest

We’re thrilled to announce that Gin, one of the talented participants in DEOW Japan’s Global Tokiwaso Project, has been selected as a finalist in the June 2025 Sunday Webry Newcomer Manga Contest!

The Work: 「5分のエース」 (Five-Minute Ace)

Gin’s submission, titled 「5分のエース」 (Five-Minute Ace), is a powerful sports manga that dives into the emotions and pressures of high school competition. The story centers around a first-year student at Seiran High School, who unexpectedly finds himself thrust into the spotlight.

Contest Results

Gin’s work was chosen as one of the finalists in this nationwide competition, earning a prize of ¥10,000 and valuable recognition from professional editors at Shogakukan’s Sunday Webry.

This is a huge accomplishment, as Sunday Webry is one of Japan’s most respected platforms for discovering fresh manga talent.
