Founded in 1992 in Nagano, ISI has grown to become one of Japan's largest Japanese language schools, with additional campuses in Tokyo and Kyoto, serving over 3,000 students from over 110 countries. The ISI group also includes Beijing Language and Culture University in Tokyo and two vocational schools: Tokyo Business and Language College (TBL) and Nagano Business and Language College.
Opened in 2006, the Takadanobaba campus is Japan's largest multinational Japanese language school, focusing on preparing students for entry into competitive universities and graduate schools. The Ikebukuro campus, established in 2002, shares a building with TBL, offering students opportunities to interact with Japanese students while preparing for vocational school entry.
