About
Tokyo JE Language School (Tokyo Nichiei Gakuin), founded in January 1984, teaches Japanese in Kiba, Koto-ku, Tokyo. Full-time study prepares learners for graduate schools, universities, vocational schools and future careers. Classes are assigned by Japanese level, with language study, cultural learning and individual progression guidance.
Learning and Student Support
Teachers support school selection, application documents, essays, interviews and research plans. JLPT and EJU practice and mock examinations are part of the published progression support. Guidance is available mainly in English, Chinese and Vietnamese, subject to staff availability. Admission, examination results, employment and visas are not guaranteed.
The official student-life page describes a school dormitory near the school with Wi-Fi and introductions to apartments. Confirm current vacancies, room type, rent, deposits, meals and other housing costs separately. Cultural events include traditional arts, visits and excursions; the programme and any costs can change. Staff can advise on life in Japan and part-time work, but jobs are not guaranteed and any work must comply with the student's permission and status.

Comprehensive Japanese develops vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, listening and communication. Ability-based classes and JLPT N1/N2 preparation support progression to higher education or future professional goals. Private lessons can be tailored after consultation; people already living in Japan can ask about the separate auditor option.

878,000 yen is the first-year payment, not the price of an independent one-year course. The totals above are published full-time Japanese-course amounts, not estimates. Travel, accommodation, living costs and any separately arranged art/EJU lessons are not presented as included. Confirm the invoice and applicable intake; a 2027-specific fee schedule was not found and unchanged 2027 prices are not promised.
Entry and Application
The 2026 guide requires 12 years of education or equivalent, completed or expected before the relevant higher-education application. Japanese levels: A1 / JLPT N5 equivalent for 24 or 21 months; A2 / N4 for 18 months; B1 / N3 for 15 months. The guide describes test certificates or evidence of 150 or more study hours, while the Japanese admission webpage describes 150 hours together with A1 ability. Confirm the accepted evidence and course-specific level with the school; 150 hours alone is not treated as a universal waiver.
Selection uses documents and an interview, in person or online; a written test is described for local in-person screening. Documents include the school forms, education and Japanese-study evidence, passport and financial-support evidence; requirements and translations vary by nationality and region. The guide lists application windows of September-October for April, January-February for July, late March-mid May for October, and July-August of the preceding year for January. Confirm current deadlines and vacancies. School acceptance and immigration approval are separate decisions.
Application/screening is the initial fee. After a Certificate of Eligibility is issued, the school sends the fee invoice; original admission/COE documents are sent after payment is confirmed. Follow the current school invoice rather than assuming a visa or entry is guaranteed.
Cancellation and Source Differences
Confirm written terms before paying: the 2026 PDF limits the described first-year pre-arrival refund to confirmed visa refusal, excluding application and entrance fees, and normally allows no refund after arrival. Its second-year exceptional withdrawal provisions require school approval and evidence, advance notice, a monthly tuition calculation and a 32,000-yen administration fee, with transfer fees extra. The admission webpage separately describes refunds in additional pre-arrival situations, subject to returned documents and visa checks. These sources differ; this page does not promise that a particular cancellation will qualify.
Art Course
Current Availability: Confirm with the School
Current dedicated art-class admission, lesson timetable, duration and additional fees are unconfirmed. The English page still describes this option, while the updated Japanese course list does not list a separate art course. This is a reference to the school's published description, not confirmation of a current bookable package or a successor course.
The official English course page describes art preparation alongside full-time Japanese: drawing, colour composition and plane composition, with guidance on practical skills, essays, interviews and research plans for art universities and graduate schools. Study considers differences between art education systems. Admission to an art institution is not guaranteed.

EJU Preparation Course

The English dedicated EJU description still says it was scheduled to start in July 2020. Current class formation, subjects, timetable, duration and additional fees must therefore be confirmed with Tokyo JE. Do not assume it is currently running or included in the basic Japanese fee; no discontinuation or successor relationship is asserted.
The official English page describes EJU preparation alongside full-time Japanese, including Japanese, general subjects and science, small-group work with past questions, and writing and listening practice. The current Japanese progression-support page confirms EJU/JLPT application support and mock examinations, but does not establish the full dedicated course package.

Short-Term Course
Intensive Japanese for 1-3 months, including summer or winter study and cultural activities. The English official page describes a completion certificate. Confirm current start dates, level placement, timetable, certificate conditions and any activity charges with the school.
This is short-term study, not an automatic student-visa route. The permitted study period must fit the applicant's actual status of residence or allowed short stay. Ask the school about eligibility and the appropriate application documents; a visa or entry permission is not guaranteed.
The school publishes three full-time daily sessions: 08:00-11:10, 11:25-14:35 and 14:50-18:00. Confirm which session accepts short-term students; no free choice of time is promised. Private and auditor arrangements are also available for consultation, with their own current conditions and quotations.
Short-Term Fees: School Quotation
A current official short-term fee table was not found. The previous three-month price cannot be confirmed for present applications and is not quoted as a current fixed price. Request tuition, entrance/materials/insurance/activity charges, payment dates and cancellation terms for the exact duration. Do not pro-rate the long-term fee. Travel, housing and living expenses are separate.
