Tokyo Cool Japan Academy

About
Tokyo Cool Japan Academy is a vocational school in Sendagaya, Tokyo, offering practical game and animation education. Its 2027 international guide lists two departments and seven majors, all two years. Classes are taught in Japanese, alongside Japanese students. Diploma (senmonshi) is awarded on completion of an eligible programme, subject to graduation requirements; this is not a university degree.
For voice acting or any option not in the current catalogue below, consult the school about current recruitment, duration and fees before applying. No closure, renaming or successor relationship is assumed.
Learning and Student Support
Practical team production and industry-linked projects develop technical and communication skills. The school offers JLPT N1/N2 preparation, one-to-one Japanese lessons and international-student guidance. Career support includes company information sessions, industry events and individual advice. Job offers, JLPT results and a particular project are not guaranteed.
Partner dormitories and student apartments are introduced, including a women’s residence. Confirm eligibility, availability, contract, meals and separate housing costs. Housing is not included in the school fees below.
Pre-school lessons are available before enrolment, subject to entry and at least one open-campus or information-session visit. The international page describes monthly lessons; the 2027 guide excludes concurrent-choice applicants and lists free participation subject to its conditions. Confirm the current schedule; do not assume a fixed total of 11 lessons.
2027 International Admission
By March 2027: non-Japanese nationality, age 18 or over, and completion of at least 12 years of schooling; commitment to study through graduation. Meet at least one Japanese-study/language route: one year at a Japanese-language institution in Japan (long course, at least 760 hours); one year at a school under Article 1 of Japan’s School Education Act; or JLPT N2+, EJU Japanese 200+ excluding writing, or BJT 400+. Applicants attending a Japanese-language or vocational school in Japan need attendance of at least 80%.
All categories require document screening, an interview and a written examination in principle. N2/EJU200/BJT400 may permit a written-test exemption, but the school may still require it. Applications start September 1, 2026 and may close early when full. Overseas documents normally close around the end of November; contact the school for December onward. Confirm the actual round, documents and visa/residence procedures directly; admission and visa approval are not guaranteed.
