Established in 1990, Shibuya Gaigo Gakuin is in Takadanobaba, Shinjuku, Tokyo, not Shibuya ward. Japanese study emphasizes communication, student-led activities and cultural exchange, from beginner to advanced. Student Visa Course

Full-time practical Japanese for life, further study or future work. Standard published routes are one or two years, with January, April, July and October entry. The official 2027 student-visa application form offers both lengths for each intake; this does not guarantee intake availability or a visa. Other durations require individual school consultation.

Group classes: four 45-minute lessons per day, five days per week; morning 09:30-13:00 or afternoon 13:30-17:00, assigned by Japanese level, not free choice. Confirm your actual term dates and application deadline; the separate schedule page still displays 2024/2025 calendars.

Age 18 or over, 12 years of formal schooling or equivalent, ability to read/write hiragana and katakana, and an advance level check. Documents and financial support depend on circumstances; admission, COE and visa are not guaranteed.

For student-visa applications, official Japanese application and English contact pages list different temporary nationality restrictions. Confirm acceptance with the school for your nationality and residence status; do not treat the student-visa notice as a ban on all visa-free course applications.

The existing course page lists 877,000 for one year and 1,684,000 for two years at the pre-revision rates. These are reference totals, not fixed quotations for periods crossing April 2027. The 11 June 2026 notice announces 930,000 per year, tax included, effective April 2027 and also affecting students already enrolled for that term. A new two-year total is not confirmed; it is not calculated by multiplying the annual amount. Obtain the intake-specific invoice and payment schedule.

Application, Payment and Refunds

Online application, advance level check and school/immigration screening apply as relevant. The school uses Flywire for payments; use its official invoice and deadline. Refunds are subject to the linked policy: acceptance starts an eight-day cooling-off period, with stated cost/duration conditions; visa-course application/admission charges and post-start refunds have separate rules. Short-term cancellation depends on timing; the ten-week special course is non-refundable after classes start. Transfer/handling fees may apply. Obtain written conditions before paying; no unconditional refund is promised.

Private Japanese Course

Personalized Japanese lessons, all levels. Lesson length: 45, 60 or 90 minutes. Start dates and schedules are arranged with the school, Monday-Friday within 10:00-21:00, not a guaranteed anytime booking. Individual and small-group prices differ; the tables here are for one student at school.
