About

Japan Electronics College (JEC / 日本電子専門学校), also listed here as Nippon Denshi Pro-industry Technical College, is a vocational college in Shinjuku, Tokyo, founded in 1951. Its current official international-student page reports approximately 3,000 enrolled students and over 110,000 graduates. These are school-wide figures, not annual admissions. The campus page describes 13 college-owned buildings near five stations.

The 2027 international admission guide lists 21 daytime departments in nine areas: CG/video, games, animation, graphic design, AI, web/mobile, information processing, network/security, and electrical/electronic engineering. Programs take two or three years; Advanced Game Production takes four years. Japanese-language ability sufficient to follow specialist lectures is required; this is not a general Japanese-language course or a promise of English-medium study. Night programs must be discussed separately and are not available under student status of residence.

Practical training uses specialist classrooms and industry-style equipment. The school publishes projects, industry partnerships and internships, with content varying by department and year. Original visual textbooks were described in this listing; confirm current materials, their format and applicable department with the school. A particular internship, qualification, job or learning outcome is not guaranteed.

Admission

Applicants must meet the school’s full requirements: normally 12 years of school education or the accepted equivalent; direct applicants must be at least 18 at entry. Where previously/currently enrolled in Japanese language or vocational education, attendance of at least 80% is required as applicable. Japanese proof includes JLPT N2 or above, EJU Japanese 200 excluding writing, BJT 400, JPT 525, or an accepted qualifying year of education in Japan/Japanese-language education. The direct guide applies a two-year validity to exam proof and may still require N2-equivalent competence. Financial support, required documents, selection and an appropriate continuing status of stay must also be confirmed. These alternatives are not automatic admission or visa approval.

April 2027 intake. Residents using the regular international general route: applications 1 September 2026-24 February 2027; the designated-school recommendation window ended 30 September 2026. Overseas direct applicants, temporary visitors and working-holiday applicants use the separate direct guide: 1 September-27 November 2026, not the regular Web application. Direct selection is documents and an online interview; remaining published deadlines are 23 October for the 14 November interview and 27 November for the 12 December interview. Contact the school before applying. Departments may close when full, and document submission must be complete; applying online alone is insufficient.

Checked 14 October 2026 against the official 2027 direct-entry guide, page 7, and the international fee page. Ranges depend on department and are not a single price for every program. All school totals include enrollment 200,000 once; do not add it again. Screening 20,000 is separate unless an applicable waiver is confirmed. Textbooks, materials, accommodation, living expenses, transport and transfer charges are not included. The full official guide provides the department-by-department first/yearly/whole-course amounts; obtain your exact invoice rather than applying the minimum to every department.

Normally the admission-stage payment is due within seven days of the acceptance notice. For direct entry this precedes the school’s COE application, so do not assume fees are payable only after COE. The regular resident route has conditional early-application deferral and installment arrangements; confirm eligibility and the payment schedule with the school, not automatically for overseas direct applicants. Confirm status-of-residence procedures with the school and immigration authorities; permission is not guaranteed.

The direct guide says withdrawal notified through the required school procedure by 31 March 2027 may receive a refund excluding enrollment and transfer charges. From 1 April it says paid fees are not refunded on leave/withdrawal. Its COE/visa-refusal clause requires confirmation of the refusal by 31 March 2027 and excludes screening and transfer charges. Screening is normally non-refundable. Confirm which written conditions and deadlines apply to your route; there is no unconditional full-refund promise.

The college offers accommodation-support information via an external dormitory provider. A dormitory support offer has eligibility, designated rooms and separate initial/monthly charges; it is not included in tuition and no room, discount or scholarship is guaranteed. Confirm the current property, contract, meals, utilities and vacancy before booking.
