Naganuma Japanese Language School
Tokyo
About
Founded in 1948, Naganuma Japanese Language School represents one of the oldest international language schools in Japan, with nearly 70 years of experience. Up to the present, the school is proud to be the only to achieve the international exchange incentive award given by the International Exchange Foundation to entities that contribute to international exchange activities. With the experience of receiving students from over 50 countries around the world, apart from language learning itself, one of this school’s strengths lies in its ability to create a bond between people; By creating links between graduates and current students, as well as engaging with other universities and businesses, this school is helping to shape the future for the better. In addition, the school builds a support program based on the real needs and aspirations of its students by organizing discussions about life and employment-seeking. The school also organizes a variety of activities such as cooking classes, tea ceremony classes, Yukata experiences, presentation competitions, and traditional cultural festivals, accessible to everyone.
Main Features
- Special teaching methods
- Naganuma School has a special teaching method that follows a Q&A, sequential conversation-style format. When students repeatedly review scenes & dialogues, the vocabulary they apply will stick in the memory, increasing their ability to recall words when they need them and express themselves. The school has a strict Japanese-only policy in the classroom so that students can practice thinking in Japanese and improve their language ability in a short period of time.
- The learning environment focuses on students
- The school limits the maximum number of students in the class to 15 to maximize opportunities for students to speak in class, and therefore improve their capacity. In addition, each class has 3 people in charge to be the most engaging. Many of the teachers have more than 10 years teaching experience, and have been students themselves who have studied abroad, allowing them to be able to provide sound advice to students in many aspects of student life in Japan.
- Multi-faceted Support
- The school has designed a job support program and consults students on their next steps, with large company-introducing seminars hosted 2 times a yea, professional schools seminars, trial classes sponsored by universities, etc. In addition, this school offers a course specifically designed for preparing students for entering universities, offering counselling and exam preparation, as well as a course aimed specifically for those seeking employment in Japan, with specialized support in building your professional profile, preparing for specific employment examinations, planning research, interview training and other useful discussion-based support. The school also organizes job seminars, and information sessions on how to apply for and transfer visas. Many students of this school currently work in many different fields such as tourism, real estate, IT, commerce, and banking.
