Description

The Academic Japanese course develops reading, writing, listening and speaking, with guidance for further study and career planning. Lessons are conducted in Japanese. JLPT and EJU preparation and pathway support are offered; specific electives and placement depend on the campus, level and timetable.

These academic rates apply to Takadanobaba Academic Pathway and Ikebukuro. Official prices are tax-inclusive for Takadanobaba and tax-exclusive for Ikebukuro. The manual states that the amount payable does not change; do not automatically add 10%. Confirm the final invoice.

These are first-year totals, not tuition alone and not the total cost of the full 15-24 month program. The application fee is already included and is paid when applying. Facility and management fees include student insurance. The 2027 manual lists these rates for study between April 2027 and March 2029. Fees for later years may increase; confirm your intake and invoice. External examination fees, related travel, some activity transport, accommodation and living costs are separate.

Description

The Short-Term General Japanese course develops all four language skills. The minimum application is 2 weeks. Beginners should enroll at the start of a term; mid-term entry depends on a placement test and space in a suitable class. As a rule, apply at least 30 days before the start date. Applicants must be at least 16; contact the school for younger applicants. Confirm the appropriate residence status for your nationality and study period.

Admission for 2027

Requirements include 12 years of education or equivalent (school-approved exceptions apply), age under 55 on April 1, 2027, financial resources, and about 150 hours of Japanese study or N5/A1 proficiency. Applicants aged 18 or older with a high-school qualification may qualify with fewer years. Confirm eligibility and nationality-specific documents with the school.

January entrants need A1 Japanese ability and readiness to progress to A2. Confirm exceptions and required documents with the school.

The 2027 guide lists deadlines: April, end of October 2026; July, end of February 2027; October, end of May 2027; January, end of August 2027. Confirm the actual January intake year. Applications can close earlier when full.

Career Japanese long-term applicants need a university, graduate-school or junior-college qualification and an intention to work in Japan. The Specified Skilled Worker exception requires school approval. These requirements are additional to the common long-term conditions.

Ikebukuro

ISI Language College. Opened October 2002; official capacity 400 (not enrollment). 1-13-13 Minami-Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku, Tokyo 171-0022. 6 minutes from Ikebukuro East Exit. Shares premises with a group vocational college. Official sources.

All three campuses: morning 8:50-12:00 or afternoon 13:00-16:10, Monday-Friday. The school assigns the class. January, April, July and October intakes.

Accommodation

School-arranged Tokyo dormitories are separate from school fees. Utilities and internet are included subject to limits. Confirm availability and obtain a final quotation covering room type, dates, taxes, move-in/cleaning charges and optional airport transfer.

Other Lessons and Support

Private lessons are available by arrangement; confirm dates and fees. The 2026 school guide describes Specified Skilled Worker support in accommodation and food service, with paid visa-procedure support. Confirm current eligibility, services and charges rather than using another campus’s or past-year prices.
