Evergreen Japanese Language School, located in Tokyo’s vibrant Yutenji district, has been offering high-quality Japanese language education since 1987. Applications, Classes and Housing

For April 2027, contact the school promptly to confirm the application deadline and places; early closure is possible. Published July 2027 applications run from December 1 to February 26. Eligibility and documents depend on nationality and education; the official guide requests graduation evidence and funding, including a sponsor balance of at least USD 15,000 where applicable. The FAQ describes group classes of 6–12 students. Teaching is in Japanese, with English support outside class. Beginners should learn hiragana and katakana before arrival. Official FAQ.

The school helps students search for housing but does not operate its own student accommodation. Confirm property availability, rent, utilities and initial charges with the accommodation provider. Official housing guidance.

School Location

Yutenji main campus: 1-21-18 Yutenji, Meguro-ku, Tokyo 153-0052, approximately three minutes on foot from Yutenji Station. The student-visa and general intensive courses described here take place at Yutenji. Jiyugaoka branch programs are separate.

Long-term Course

Description

The Yutenji student-visa courses develop the four Japanese-language skills, with class placement by level. The school assists with applications; approval and the period of residence depend on immigration decisions.

Short-term Course

Description

The general intensive course is offered at Yutenji only, from three months. Students join an existing international class and develop conversation, reading, writing, listening and grammar. Confirm that your status and permitted stay allow the intended study.

Enrollment and Timetable

April, July and October; morning 9:00–12:30 or afternoon 13:15–16:45. The school assigns the class after placement; the time cannot be freely selected.
