ISI International Study Institute Kyoto

Kyoto

About

Founded in 1992 in Nagano, ISI has grown into one of Japan’s largest Japanese language school groups, with campuses in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Nagano, serving over 3,000 students from more than 110 countries. In addition to its language schools, ISI also operates a university (Beijing Language and Culture University) and two vocational schools, expanding opportunities for students to continue their education.

The Kyoto campus, established in 2003, combines a warm, family-like atmosphere with modern facilities, set in one of Japan’s most culturally rich and historic cities. Recognized as Japan’s top student city—where one in ten residents is a university student—Kyoto offers a unique environment that blends tradition with innovation, from Nobel Prize-winning research to animation and Zen.

At ISI Kyoto, we take full advantage of this academic and cultural setting to provide Japanese language education tailored to the diverse goals of our international students. Whether your dream is to experience Japan’s traditions, master daily communication, pursue higher education at universities and graduate schools, or build a career in Japan, our curriculum is designed to support your journey every step of the way.
