Nagoya International Foreign Language School (名古屋国際外語学院) offers Japanese language study and preparation for universities, graduate schools and vocational colleges in Nagoya. The main campus is at 30-18 Tatsumi-cho, Minato-ku, and Chitose Campus is at 1-45 Tatsumi-cho; both use postcode 455-0003. Confirm the assigned campus. The school describes access from Tokai-dori Station as about three minutes on foot.

Student Support

The current official information describes JLPT/EJU preparation, school selection, application documents, statements of purpose, interviews and support for student life, together with school events and cultural activities. Admission to another school, scholarships and employment are not guaranteed. The April 2027 admission guide says part-time jobs are not introduced directly; students should consult the notice board and meet their own work-permission conditions. The English school introduction lists support in English, Chinese, Nepali and Hindi; confirm staff availability for the required language.

April 2027 Entry Conditions

April 2027 two-year course: published conditions include completion or expected completion of 12 years of school education and graduation within the past two years; school/university transcripts; JLPT N5 passed at interview and N4 obtained before arrival; a sponsor with stable income and a bank balance equivalent to JPY 3,000,000. English ability is preferred. The school also lists health requirements and country-dependent tuberculosis testing, no tattoos, no previous full-time work experience, and no prayer during class. These are conditions of this particular published intake, not general Japanese immigration rules. Confirm individual applicability, screening, documents and other intakes with the school. Admission, COE and visa issuance are not guaranteed.

Published school fees, checked 14 October 2026. The common first-year total of 929,500 includes screening 25,000, enrollment 50,000, tuition 720,000, miscellaneous fees 50,000 and consumption tax 84,500. Screening is 27,500 including tax and is already part of that school total; do not add it again. School fees do not include dormitory charges or living expenses. One teaching unit is 45 minutes, not one clock hour.

The July remainder total is 649,000 in both official sources, but its breakdown differs: the website gives miscellaneous 37,500 and tax 71,500, while the payment PDF gives miscellaneous 50,000 and tax 59,000. The tuition component is 540,000 in both. This page preserves the common published total and does not silently recalculate the tax or invent a corrected invoice. Ask the school for the applicable breakdown and final quotation. Costs, refunds, examination fees, insurance, travel and other extras must be confirmed.

Payment

The April 2027 guide requires screening 27,500 before the COE application and first-year school/dormitory payment in one lump sum within five days of COE issuance, described as approximately 1.7 million. The separate payment PDF shows one week and an initial two-person-room example of 1,693,100; the newer intake guide takes priority for the stated deadline, but confirm the invoice and treatment of prepaid screening. This example includes the screening component: it is not automatically an additional 1,693,100 on top of the screening payment. School and dormitory charges are paid annually, not monthly or by installments. Second-year timing and amounts vary by intake and invoice.

Published Dormitory Charges: JPY

The April 2027 guide requires residence in the designated dormitory for the two years of that course. Do not apply that duration automatically to the shorter July/October courses; confirm their residency rules. Published monthly per-person rents depend on occupancy, but the fees are collected annually. Three meals on school teaching days are included; utilities are excluded. Room availability and allocation, bedding, deposits, deductions, refunds and the final invoice must be confirmed.

The payment PDF includes a 100,000 deposit, described as returned after graduation, and a separate common-area charge of 3,300/month. Its initial double-room illustration is school 929,500 + annual rent 564,000 + entry 60,000 + deposit 100,000 + annual common charges 39,600 = 1,693,100. This is a room-specific published example, not a universal all-inclusive price or a guarantee of a full deposit refund regardless of deductions.
