Edo Cultural Center is a language school with a history of over 30 years and a firm belief that because “the world is changing rapidly, communication ability between people becomes very important” and therefore “Edo Cultural Center is not only teaching Japanese Language but also providing a place for meaningful cultural exchange”. Since its opening in 1984, more than 10,000 students from over 70 countries have attended their school and become a part of their community. The school is located in Akasaka, which is the political center of Tokyo and is where the Emperor’s palace, the national convention center, and the prime minister’s office can be found. In addition, it is positioned between Shibuya, Shinjuku, Akihabara, Tokyo’s most popular and culturally concentrated areas among the younger generation, and easily accessible to Tokyo, Ikebukuro, and Shinagawa stations, convenient for travel and plenty of choices for places to visit after school.

Students are guided and consulted on their path of study and supported step by step as they prepare to reach their desired educational goals including timely preparation for the required entrance exams.
The school has created courses especially geared for the Japanese language proficiency exam, Japanese study abroad exam, and university entrance exam, with all of the necessary materials to help the students be successful. - Students who graduate this school go on to study at universities, graduate schools and professional schools, which include Tokyo University, Waseda University, Ritsumeikan University, Tokyo University of Technology, Mushino University, Tokyo International University, IT professional schools, as well as cooking, designing and other specialty fields. In addition, the homeroom teacher together with the faculty staff provide advice, individual counseling, mock interviews, essay-writing support, and time within class to prepare for the Japanese study abroad exam and to delve deeper into the fields of study that students are particularly interested in in order to help students develop their own abilities.
