About the school
Sophia University has launched two summer programs, offering courses in either East Asian Studies or Japanese Language, which has already been a hit with students starting in 2018.
Both courses are a three-week academic program with 2 sessions offered each summer for each course, allowing students to take both courses in one summer back-to-back.
Overview: The East Asian Studies Program
Since its foundation in 1961, the East Asian Studies programs have provided students with the opportunity to study about Japan and explore the country’s relationship to Asia and the rest of the world. Students have experienced various aspects of Japanese culture and society, and have witnessed the myriad ways in which all cultures of the world are reflected.
Overview: The Japanese Language Program
Sophia University started its regular Japanese Language Program in 2013, allowing students to study Japanese at beginner, intermediate, advanced intermediate, and advanced levels.
