The Educational Philosophy at Kudan is to foster Japan lovers and promote an understanding about the country. The school is aiming to offer the education and experience which can be acquired only in Japan. Moreover, you will not only learn Japanese language and culture, but also have the opportunity to engage in cultural exchanges within their diverse student body.

The school is notably characterized by bright classrooms, spacious corridors, and friendly teachers, all of which create a comfortable learning environment where even new international students with no previous interaction with Japanese people can feel relaxed.

The school is nested among 4 train stations, more than 10 universities, vocational schools, some bookstores, sport and music stores, and is overall a very busy and convenient area to be.

Total Number of Students: 200~300

Main Features

Flexible course options
The school offers programs as short as 2 weeks, convenient for students who are only available for short periods, like school holidays. Additionally, the school tries wherever possible to be flexible with regard to class start times, in an attempt to allow smooth entry into the program of choice. The school also offers specialized courses which teach Japanese to students with completely no previous experience, starting with learning the hiragana alphabet, all the way to the general courses which prepare students for entrty to Japanese universities, colleges, and daily conversation. In addition, the school has opened Japanese manga classes specifically for those with this special interest.
Many opportunities to interact with local Japanese people
The Kudan Institute of Japanese Language & Culture has new and exciting activities for international students including international exchanges. Most of the members of such exchanges are Japanese youth between the ages of 20 and 30 who are studying at nearby colleges, thereby creating an interesting environment for learning Japanese and making friends. In addition, the school regularly organizes various events such as: Sushi-making, Yukata experiences, visiting the Hakone ANA aircraft maintenance site, joining literary festivals and other Japanese cultural festivals.
Special Homestay Network
On the contrary to using 3rd party Homestay Brokerage agencies, the school has developed direct and personal relationships with each of its 350 host families. Although most of these families live within some distance to the school, the living environment compared to those in the city center is considerably more comfortable & specious. For those students who wish to live in private rooms, guest houses, and share houses, this school has a developed relationship with such accommodations and can provide referrals to its students.

School Location

Because this area is known as student’s town where many schools gather, you will find many student-friendly restaurants that offer student discounts. Tokyo Dome City offers amusement parks, shopping, enthusiastic baseball games, and spas. The nearby area is also suitable for sightseeing with many gardens, cherry blossom viewing spots, shrines and museums. The big city Akihabara is only one step away from Suidobashi Station.
